Romancing the Clone
"Spainful" is the second segment of the twentieth episode of the Pucca television series. It first aired March 16, 2007.
Garu and Abyo arrive in Spain to participate in “the running of the bulls (with dramatic guitar music)”. They enter an outside diner and Pucca, also in Spain, quickly captures Garu to dance with her. He escapes while Abyo similarly dances for the local girls. At the same café, Tobe is watching them, plotting another scheme and becomes so overjoyed by his own cleverness (“Viva Tobe!”) he ends up struck with a serving pan.
Later, the two ninjas stand before the bull gate being cheered on by the locals (and Pucca). When the gate opens, only one bull is present, but he proves enough as the ninjas take off running down the walled path. The bull knocks Abyo off the path, causing him to crash through one of the balconies that happens to be Ching’s, who’s also visiting Spain.
Garu is the only one left while the bull turns out to be a robot controlled by Tobe. With help from his ninjas, he detours the running straight to the coliseum for a bull fight
and Garu, donning a matador’s costume provided by Pucca, attempts to battle him. Able to shoot throwing stars, Tobe proves too strong for the ninja until Pucca smashes a barrel in the ring, causing the bull to crash and appear defeated. The machine quickly recovers and plows Garu into the ground, prepared to trample him.
Pucca then hops onto the field, dressed as a Matador, and when Tobe tries to knock her out too, she taunts him with her red flag. She continuously evades the creature, receiving the cheers of the crowd which continues to anger Tobe. He extends the horns of the bull further and charges at her, only to be stopped by a female cow on the field who attempts to kiss him. The evil ninjas flee and end up crashing against the wall, opening up the bull and stumbling out to Abyo and Ching’s surprise and disgust. The female cow, not pleased with having been tricked, chases after them while Pucca pulls the revived Garu into another dance as the crowd cheers.
