I'm too perfect to be angry...

—Ring Ring

Ring Ring (링링, Ling Ling) is Pucca's rival and the goddess of the wind and bearer of the Yang Curse. She usually tries to be better than Pucca in some way, but does not usually accomplish such a task. In Pucca: Love Recipe, she competes against Pucca for Garu's attention.

Description[]

Ring Ring has bright blue hair with a zigzag hairline and a heart-shaped bun that sits on the crown of her head. She has slanted dark-colored eyes and wears pink makeup. She was once described as having a "symmetrical head".

She is usually seen wearing her signature pink dress with matching pink boots and gloves.

Yang Form[]

Ring Ring has long flowing blue hair and a red ornate opera gown with a matching headdress crown. Her face gains a reddish tint and "skull horn markings".

Personality[]

Ring Ring is a fabulous but terribly jealous girl who likes to show off at every possible moment.

Ring Ring is easily angered that she often unleashes her powers with the deranged and jealous side often influencing her actions more than her good side. She often calms herself down by chanting out her "I'm too perfect to be angry" mantra to prevent herself from going on a frenzied emotional rampage whenever she is experiencing frustration. Sometimes Ring Ring starts to be nice to Pucca, but it usually turns out that she has an evil plan in mind.

In some episodes, she has been shown to have feelings of regret or sadness at her actions.

History[]

Ring Ring claims to be beautiful, smart and likes to be fashionable, but she has a small defect. When someone makes her angry, her other personality becomes dominant.

Relationships[]

Pucca & Garu[]

She despises Pucca because she is the prettiest in all of Sooga Village. She always wants to be better than Pucca and will cause a lot of trouble for her due to jealously and hate. In the Jetix series, Ring Ring often uses Garu to annoy Pucca, either by making her jealous, or even by making Garu disappear. However, in Pucca: Love Recipe (more specifically, in Enter: Ring Ring), Ring Ring falls in love with Garu after he unintentionally saves her and frequently expresses her feelings to him, much to his (and Pucca's) annoyance.

In Little Miss Sooga, Ring Ring tries presenting her talents to Garu and the other judges in a beauty pageant in hopes to be able to prove that she can grasp Garu's attention better than Pucca.

In Tame That Toon, Ring Ring warps to a retro cartoon version of Sooga Village, teams up with the toon version of herself and tries to erase Pucca. Ring Ring accidentally erases Garu from existence instead, but makes light of her error as she is delighted to watch Toon Pucca cry.

Abyo[]

Only in another universe/parody episode does she show interest in Abyo. In the usual episodes, she barely ever interacts with Abyo, so she has a neutral view of him. However, Abyo sometimes shows dislike over Ring Ring, as shown in He Loves Me Not and It's a Ring Ring Thing, and may get defensive when insulted by her.

In Ching It On, it is implied Ring Ring is interested in Abyo because he is popular.

Ching[]

Like Pucca's friends, Ring Ring does not like Ching, though not to the extent of Pucca. She gets on her bad side a lot of the time for being rude to Pucca and using Garu. In Ching It On, Ring Ring hates both Ching and Pucca, and manipulates Abyo into getting him to like her to annoy Ching, including not letting Ching join her cheerleading squad.

In Ring Ring's Way of Making a Friend, she makes multiple, deceptive attempts to befriend Ching in order to take advantage of her supportive and friendly personality and use it to get closer to Garu.

Dada[]

In the Jetix series, Dada is shown to have a crush on Ring Ring, but she does not reciprocate the same feelings. In fact, she has been shown to abuse him multiple times (usually at the end of episodes), but Dada doesn't seem to mind, happy to be acknowledged by her. In a few episodes, she has dated Dada, like when he was made handsome by Mister Dishy in the episode Soap Opera.

In the Chef-Napped trilogy, Ring Ring teamed up with Dada, the Vagabonds, Muji and Tobe to steal all the great noodle chefs of the world, including Pucca's uncles, so they would be forced to cook only for her as revenge for not cooking her food on demand.

She was unknowingly infatuated with Dada in Soap Opera because of his suave appearance, repeatedly telling Pucca that Garu can't do the things that her boyfriend could do. She eventually discovered his true identity and dumped him.

In Pucca: Love Recipe, she has little to no interactions with Dada and the two do not like each other.

Character variations[]

Abilities[]

Ring Ring is the second strongest character in the series as she is the only one that can fight Pucca toe-to-toe and manage to overwhelm her multiple times.

Normal Form[]

Ring Ring doesn't have many abilities.

Yang Form[]

Ring Ring has unusual powers where she has the ability to stretch and control her hair and the sleeves of her dress that are used as extra arms and grab things in their reach, the power to fly and she has a operatic-like high voice that contains mighty powerful sonic booms that is capable of tearing up trees and destroying half of Sooga Village.

Her Yang side comes out when she is angered. In It's a Ring Ring Thing, the "Siren" Ring Ring is split from the neuro-typical Ring Ring via hypnosis, but they are later recombined. It is shown in a transition and various episodes that Ring Ring can turn control over to her Yang side at will, although her powers are slightly reduced.
