Man of the Tree House is the first segment of the twentieth episode of the television show Pucca. It first aired on March 26, 2007.

Synopsis[]

Abyo and Garu build a treehouse that doesn't allow girls, so Pucca and Ching make their own, better treehouse to show them up.

Plot[]

Abyo is walking through the forest when he senses someone else present. He's sent flying by the hit-and-run pair of Garu and Pucca, landing at the base of a tree. Garu has taken shelter in the tree, hiding from Pucca as she searches for him (and is not impressed by Gopher Santa). Abyo joins him in the tree and the two gripe about the antics of the girls interfering with their need for space, which gives Abyo an idea.

Pucca and Ching are happily catching bugs (and dragons) when they run across the newly constructed (though a little rickety) Boys' Treehouse. The girls wish to join them but the boys declare that they are not allowed. Enraged, Pucca is ready to bring the whole tree down but Ching stops her, saying they can build their own treehouse. The girls go off to do so, but Abyo mocks their intentions, declaring the Boys' creation is the greatest.

Sometime later, the boys (plus Mio) are sitting in their treehouse, declaring they like the solitude but less enthusiastic now than they were before. Loud crashes draw them to the window where they see Ching and Carpenter Pucca have completed construction on their own treehouse. Unlike the boys' house, the Girls' Treehouse is palatial and fully equipped with elevator, trampoline, and swimming pool. Ching wonders if the boys are jealous yet, to which Pucca agrees, waving to their counterparts across the way. A storm blows in overheard but while the girls have an extendable roof to protect them, the boys' house floods.

Choosing to deny the inadequacy, Abyo offers Garu a snack, though all they have is an expired carton of noodles. The girls have a fully stoked refrigerator that has the boys drooling. They still insist their superiority that their treehouse doubles as a dojo, only to find the girls have the same, with much better equipment. Seeing this, the boys are now eager to join them, only to be rejected by the girls that boys are not allowed. The males are not dissuaded and decide that they can find a way to sneak in.

On their first attempt, Abyo hops across the forest canopy hoping to land on the girls' roof. But Pucca has opened the sunroof to get some light and he crashes right through, down their stairs, and out the trapdoor at the bottom. He's then crushed as Ching takes the elevator to drop off trash in their dumpster.

Garu joins him at the tree base and, on Abyo's insistence, gives him a boost upwards so that he lands on the girls' patio. He's met by Pucca who, angered at the intrusion, uses her fan dancing to blast Abyo off into the distance. He crashes into Santa's kitchen, right into his batter as the holiday man is preparing to bake him.

The boys are now on their next plan: using bamboo stilts to walk across the forest and reach the treehouse. The girls see them coming and Pucca, considering their options, uses a special Panda whistle. Two pandas answer the call and though the boys attempt a hasty retreat, they can't run fast enough to avoid being mauled by the bears.

For their last try, the boys have acquired a catapult, though Abyo overshoots the girls' treehouse. He weighs himself down by tying on a huge boulder, but when this is fired, it completely destroys the Girls' Treehouse. The females are outraged at this and Abyo, seeing the danger, hightails it back to his own tree. He narrowly dodges Pucca and when Ching demands that they must share their house with them, the males smugly decline with a declaration that "that's life". Pucca won't take this lying down and with a rope, lassoes the Boy's Treehouse to drag it down to ground level. The terrified ninjas wisely choose to allow the females access to their dojo.

Satisfied, Pucca enters the house and when Garu attempts to escape out the window, she unties her tether and the house, plus the four ninjas, are catapulted into orbit. Now in Zero G, Pucca is trying to get a kiss on Garu while Ching admires the boys for having such a nice view from their treehouse.
