Synopsis[]

After receiving an un-invitation from Ring Ring, Pucca decides to throw a party of her own. But as the two will be on the same night, Ring Ring plots to sabotage Pucca's event.

Plot[]

Pucca, Ho and Linguini watch a TV commercial for Ring Ring's upcoming party, promising to be the beat of the year. Pucca is excited of the event and while the others discuss getting her a new dress for the occasion, Uncle Dumpling arrives with a letter, which she hopes is her party invitation. However, after reading the note, Pucca runs off in tears so her uncles read it for themselves. As it turns out, the note is a message from Ring Ring telling Pucca she is NOT invited to the party. The chefs are astonished by such a spiteful act but decide that, to counter this, they will throw a magnificent party for Pucca.

They set to work the very next day, passing out invitations to absolutely everyone in town (including Godzilla, though he just eats the invite).

On the night of Ring Ring's party, the girl is ready for her big party when a letter is slipped through her door. Yuni picks it up for her but Ring Ring declares there is no time for “fan mail” as she waits for her guests. But even after an excruciating twenty minutes, no one has arrived.

The Vagabond clan shows, thought admit they are only interested in pigging out on her food. When asked of where everyone else is, they point out Pucca's party over at the Goh-Rong, to which everyone was invited. Ring Ring is outraged that Pucca would throw a rival party on the same night as her own, but even more so that she didn't invite Ring Ring. This is all the motivation she needs to ruin Pucca's party in revenge.

Over at he Goh-Rong, everyone is enjoying the party (well, except maybe Garu), unaware that Ring Ring is watching them. Hanging from the ceiling, she pours Heat of One Thousand Burning Suns pepper sauce down on their dance floor, hoping to cause them pain. But while the heat does quicken their steps, Abyo proclaims their new dancing is the Forbidden Dance of the Fiery Feet, a challenge everyone gladly undertakes. Pucca especially, swinging Garu around to dance with her, Ring Ring is not happy and turns to find a new plot.

Back behind the restaurant, she meets with Muji who sells her a jar of Chinese Demon Beetles. Ring Ring readies to use them, though shoos away her dog who tries to hand her the letter from before. Climbing onto the roof, she tips the contents of the jar into the building but is surprised when she hears the villagers amazed by something. She takes a peak and finds the restaurant is filled with fireflies, a beautiful and romantic display. Ring Ring is outraged, though Muji quickly returns and hands her the right jar, apologizing for the mix up. Unfortunately for her, the lid comes off and she is swarmed by the dangerous beetles herself. She runs off, screaming in pain.

At the party, Garu carves an elegant koi ice sculpture. Pucca swoops in to try and kiss him, only to find he's substitute himself with a lifelike ice sculpture of himself. She's left disappointed while the smug ninja happily escapes.

In the kitchen, Ring Ring is back again, this time targeting the refreshments. She pours The Elixir of One Thousands Gassy Stomachs into their punch then quickly retreats (while ignoring Yuni again) to let the thirsty villagers take their cups. Once they've all has some, they suffer belly aches and swell up like giant balloons, floating up to the ceiling. They find the experience quite enjoyable, to Ring Ring's annoyance, while Pucca collides with Garu to get a quick kiss. A bit of belching sends them all back down to the floor, laughing over the fun they're having.

Ring Ring has had enough and, busting through the front door, thrashes the party and the guests.

Pucca stands against her and the two battle it out, doing heavy damages to the restaurant and injuring a few bystanders. Pucca launches Ring Ring outside but she unleashes a scream to level the building. The guests flee to safety while Pucca is knocked across the ground. She gets up but her hair ribbons have snapped, releasing her buns. Now she's really angry.

The combatants launch forwards for their final attack, though Abyo is disappointed that it's just the two pulling each other's hair. The force of the move slams them both to the ground and Ring Ring, finally calming down, cries at Pucca for holding her party the same day as hers.

At that moment, Yuni returns once again and Ring Ring finally reads the letter she's been ignoring all night. As it turns out, this was Pucca's invitation, stating that though Ring Ring rejected her, Pucca wanted her to come by anyways and even asked to know the date of the party so they wouldn't intercept. The other villagers admire the cuteness of this gesture and Ring Ring, ashamed of her own actions, offers to use the last of her hot sauce to restart their dance party. The offer is accepted and all enjoy another Forbidden Dance of Fiery Feet together. It really is the best party of the year.

Trivia[]

  • Ring Ring's attempts to sabotage Pucca's party (and their effects on the partygoers):
    • Adding a drop of 1000 Burning Suns Pepper Sauce to the restaurant's floor (everyone started dancing on it, which Abyo calls "The Forbidden Dance of the Fiery Feet")
    • Releasing a swarm of Chinese demon beetles into the restaurant (it was revealed to be fireflies as Muji got the order mixed up, thus making Ring Ring the only victim of the demon beetles)
