Autograph This! is the third segment of the nineteenth episode of the television show Pucca. It first aired on March 19, 2007.

Synopsis[]

Garu longs to see his martial arts idol in a presentation that he's giving, but after Tobe steals his ticket, Pucca makes it her mission to get him an autograph.

Plot[]

In Chang's dojo, Master Hiel Kikyu arrives to give a demonstration of his best martial arts moves. In the line of people, Garu and his friends are waiting for entry as Garu wants to get the master to sign one of his guide books. However, when its their turn, Garu is missing his ticket and Chang tells him that he can't go in despite being Master Kikyu's greatest fan. As Garu desperately searched for his pass, Tobe reveals he stole it out of spite and taunts the pig-tailed ninja into chasing him.

Within the dojo, Master Hiel makes his grand appearance and a volunteer is called for to help with his first display: catching arrows. Ssoso is chosen, which immediately worries Pucca and Abyo. As they feared, though Ssoso is supposed to shoot the arrows at the master, he accidently fires into the audience, though Kikyu swoops in to catch them anyway. Moving on to the next act, Kikyu displays his great skills of levitation to evade Santa's attack, to the amazement of the crowd. Abyo regrets that Garu is missing the show and when Ching mentions he won't get his autograph, Pucca feels sad for the absent ninja.

Outside, Tobe is still taunting Garu over his pilfered ticket.

The show goes on and as another volunteer is called for, Pucca takes Garu's book with her to the stage, requesting Kikyu sign it. He makes the condition that he'll sign it if she can be fast enough to put it in his hand, which she does easily, to his surprise. Even when has her try again, she proves much faster than him. Annoyed by this, the proud master offers her a "real challenge".

Tobe leads Garu towards a bamboo forest, asking why a true ninja would want to watch "some old man do tricks". Garu rips a bamboo pole off of a nearby outhouse to do battle and Tobe does similar, though this causes the builder to collapse (and reveal Dada on the toilet). They continue on with their fight, now taking place atop the dojo roof.

Inside, Heil Kikyu presents Pucca his next challenge: guess which hand he holds the grasshopper in, using a technique that seems to multiply his two fists into several more. But Pucca reveals to have already snatched it from him and, feeling jealous of her skill, he challenges her again. Chang comes forth with a cinderblock and Kikyu uses all his focus to smash it in two using his forehead. For Pucca's turn, she gives it just a light tap and cracks the block plus Chang into dust. Kikyu jumps right into another task: balancing on poles. But Pucca one-ups him again by balancing on poles while blindfolded and spinning plates. The audience cheers for her display.

Now thoroughly upset, Kikyu displays his greatest skill: balancing upside-down on his braided hair with a hot coal on his feet with Dada in top of that. Abyo, unlike the rest of the crowd, is unimpressed and comments to Ching that he should do it with bees in his mouth, which he then does. This is too much even for Pucca who is dejected that she can't get Garu his autograph.

Garu finally manages to get his ticket back, but Tobe spitefully slashes it in half to leave it invalid. Garu is so angry that he punches Tobe hard enough to break Chang's ceiling and they crash land right on top of Hiel Kikyu. The master finally agrees to give the autograph, but before Pucca can give him the book, Tobe reveals to have snatched it. After all she's gone through, Pucca is enraged and though Tobe meekly claims he was kidding, she gives him a sound beating and sends off with Kikyu's beehive on his head.

Pucca finally gets Kikyu to sign the book and presents it to Garu who is surprised by the gift. He happily reaches to take it but she plants a kiss on him first. For her, that makes it all worthwhile.
