4 Eyes - 2 Minds is the third segment of the eighth episode of the second season and the thirty-fourth overall episode of the Pucca television series. It first aired on June 19, 2008.
Synopsis[]
Chief wants to impress Tobe with using her newfound smartness from wearing Turtle's glasses.
Plot[]
Turtle is working on the day's fortune cookies while nearby, Tobe tries to train his ninjas with little results. As he bemoans their idiocy, Chief is admiring him while Shaman and Clown are more interested in the smell of fresh cookies. The vagabonds sneak into Turtle's factory and gladly eat the cookies, fortunes and all. Turtle greets the intruders kindly but Chief crash-lands on top of him, knocking off his glasses which land on her face instead. She finds this funny until realizing her intellect has grown from wearing them while Turtle's has shrunk to almost nothing.
At the Vagabond Clan hideout, Chief begins work on an invention with which to impress Tobe. Meanwhile, Turtle wanders through Sooga Village where the villagers greatly respect him. Ching and Pucca approach him for love advice but when he shows his decreased intelligence by eating worms with chopsticks, they are a bit worried.
Chief presents her gift to Tobe: a device that can synthesis food and end world hunger, granting them both fame. But the dark ninja can only wonder how this device might help in his revenge against Garu and with some thought, Chief draws up a new blueprint. He puts his minions to work on construction and while Chief is glad to be of help, she must watch out for a magpie that snags her shiny pen. At last, the ninja have a giant rocket which they launch out of Tobe's base and over Sooga Village.
Ching and Pucca, having realized Turtle needs his glasses, are looking for them but become distracted when seeing the rocket overhead. Chief deploys her food-synthesis machine as a satellite that locates Garu walking through town, then beams down the method of Tobe's revenge: a banana peel for him to slip on. Tobe is delighted by the humiliation this would bring his opponent and while Chief tries to get a kiss from him, Tobe accidently pushes her which knocks Turtle's glasses off. Her brain is immediately snapped back to normal size while the magpie from before returns to carry the shiny glasses away.
Garu sidesteps the banana peel so Tobe turns to Chief to fire more of them. Without the glasses, though, she can’t figure out how her own invention works so she just starts pushing buttons. This fires banana peels all over Sooga Village, causing pandemonium for everyone except Garu. With their plan a bust, the dark ninjas return to Tobe's base but the satellite has placed banana peels everywhere there, too.
The haywire satellite spreads banana peels across the globe. In Italy, the Tower of Pisa is toppled by the slipperiness. In France, Mime Santa takes a fall to the cruel laughter of his audience. Even in Spain, the running of he bull turns into a bovine bowling alley. All of Sooga Village has been coated, though the brain-lacking Turtle has fun sledding on his back. Pucca, who has avoided most of the danger, sees the passing magpie with the glasses and deducts the rightful owner. With a kick, she disarms the bird and sends the glasses back to Turtle, reinvigorating his to his previous intelligence. After borrowing Ching's sword, Turtle works out the trajectory of the laser fire and uses the reflective metal to bounce it back, overloading the satellite and destroying it. But before it goes, it pops out one last giant banana peal right on Tobe's house, for which the dark ninja fires everyone.
Sooga can now commence with cleaning up their streets but Garu, who'd been reading a book through everything and completely oblivious, does finally step on a peel. Ching and Pucca watch in horror but Turtle comes to his aid, saving him from the humiliation. The thankful ninja boy bows his gratitude while Ching and Pucca put playful kisses on Turtle's cheek for their own gratitude.
